Gromit Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 Due to several factors i`ve decided to sell my old mountain bike, it`s about 4 years old but has been stored in my mates garage for about the last 2 1/2 years. Specs are as follows. Club Roost DH 2/200 frame. (7.5" travel) DNM DH Forks (6" travel) LX front mech/chainwheels and cranks XT Bottom bracket and rear mech. Azonic riser bars with stubby hanger. WTB Veloceraptor tyres (Kevlar) F+R Sun Mammoth Mountain DH rims. Maguara Raceline hydralic brakes. Hope hubs F+R FSA headset The only fly in the ointment is this, This damage must have happened while the bike was in storage as I would have noticed the loose spokes the last time I road it. I`m open the sensible/reasonable offers on this as I have lost touch with the mountain bike scene over the last couple of years. All that I can say is that when it was built the frame/forks set me back over £1400 and the wheels/hubs/brakes cost a further £650. All the suspension is fully adjustable for travel/springs rate/ride hieght and damping. Need any more info please dont be afraid to ask. Phil
Gromit Posted April 16, 2006 Author Posted April 16, 2006 Really havn`t a clue on this. I was hoping for somewhere round about £5-600, but that was before I discovered the damaged hub, so probably now in the region of £4-500. Or an I being too optomistic?
skids Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 no sounds about right ,wish you had that diff still l would have both
Martin Keene Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Really havn`t a clue on this. I was hoping for somewhere round about £5-600, but that was before I discovered the damaged hub, so probably now in the region of £4-500. Or an I being too optomistic? If it was on disc's then £5-600 would be fair. As it is, your in the right kind of ballpark, somebody will buy it, and assuming the fork has disc mounts, have the front wheel re-built with a disc hub.
Gromit Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 Yep, both the frame and forks have disc mounts already on.
Martin Keene Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Result, shouldn't have much trouble shifting that. In fact, if I had the money spare I'd have it! Wonder what kind of a height you'd have to jump from to bottom those forks...
JonnyBoy Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I'd be suggesting a figure more in the region of £300 to sell the complete bike tbh. I'd either split it and sell the bits separately or ebay the whole job. Its going to be hard finding a buyer for a 'confused' bike. DH'ish frameset, xc hubs, xc brakes, xc crivetrain, who knows what forks. I'd suggest that you will get most return by selling the brakes and frame individually on ebay (or brakes on Singletrack World) and keep you fingers crossed for £50 on the forks from a kid who just wants big looking forks. Best of luck.. selling bikes is a pain, mines still not sold so i'm going to drop the price. It took me 3 months to sell the bike before the current one.. I did make some £400 quid on it though so hopefully that'll go someway towards meeting the £800 or so I expect to loose on the sale of my shiny Giant.
