I suspect Hammerite will melt and maybe even burn at manifold temperatures. If you are thinking of painting the manifold then only High temperature paint will do (IMO ). The engine is water cooled so the outside of the block should not reach temperatures higher than 100C . I still believe that for the cost (similar to hammerite) engine paint is a worth while investment. Surface temperatures on the block may exceed the levels elsewhere due to the heat radiated form the manifold. HTH Quote
