Ian Podmore
I always drove my car to events and loved it, it was part of the 'event' for me. To be ultra-competitive the car would have to be become uncomfortable / usable on the road but that's not for me. Oh the comfort of the carpets, heater, hood etc. It would be great to have a class for 'road going' but with a car like a Westfield it would be impossible to define what it actually was IMO. pistonbroke
What if class winner you should be made to drive to John O' Groats an back to prove the roadworthiness

Blatman
Actually I disagree with Ian, to a point. My road going sprint car is still fine - ish to drive on the road. The springs aren't overly stiff, the ARB's (now that it almost has them) can be disconnected, and I have padded race seats and a full size fuel tank. The only real aggro woud be the noise of the straight cut box (wear ear plugs anyway when blatting) and the twin plate clutch. But it's not *horrid* to drive. If the green car had problems and couldn't make Le Mans, I'd have few qualms about taking the sprint car. Even the tyres are legal I trailer my car to events as it leaves me the freedom to not have to worry too much about getting it home if I stuff it or break it...
