Mike H Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 So it's a sandrail with a body kit is it? What's that lunchbox of an air filter? Mike Quote
Molydood Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 i wonder how much that will go for, I bet it would be great fun on the track, if a little too quick for most track days Quote
Blatman Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 if a little too quick for most track days No such thing... Quote
gee_fin Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 My lord, the ugly forest certainly fell hard on that thing! Quote
cidersurfer Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I had a drive of a mate's volkswagen based part built fugitive sandrail a while back. You could do wheelies in it On private ground of course... Quote
oioi Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 call me stoopid if you want but why does the V8 only have 6 trumpets? Quote
jeff oakley Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 okay stoopid It is because the plastic sandwich box air filter has only room for 6. if you look closely it is just on top of a holly carb. As someone said it is basically a sandrail that was adapted by UVA in Newbury, the owner was Alan Arnold IIRC and they then bought the maclaren replica from the states where it was used in a tv detective series where I belive the air bourne picture came from. Quote
Blatman Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 The TV detective series is where I remember it from. Not sure what the programme was though, 'cos I was very young... Quote
Molydood Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 if a little too quick for most track days No such thing... erm... yes there is; because you share the track with other users, and must obey track etiquet with overtaking. Never a problem for me as I'm not that quick, but it is for serious machines which spend most of the time waiting for 'permission to pass' I presume you were joking anyway Quote
