...think am about to be offered a job in Leeds city centre but until then l'm also following up more local opportunities.

I've only done M1 j27 (nth Notts)  to Leeds and back off peak (55 mins). What's it like at normal commuting hours?

My Smartnav picked up the fixed speedcams..any mobile hotspots/ police favourites/ known unmarks?

On the way up, problems at Meadowhall J35 and around J40 -41 in the morning, on the way back, J33 (M18) can be a nightmare.

Pete I live in Leeds & do it most days it can be a nightmare but on saying that its the same as any big city as Muttleys says there the problem areas Plus Jn44/45 coming into Leeds

If you take the job let me know as I can give u a route which will make the journey time shorter as  getting into Leeds is a nightmare!!

Where abouts in the centre what company is it?

Normal commute time canbe 1hr 30mins  depending on weather, accidents etc

Have you checked out the train times??

I used to go from Wakefield to Sowerby Bridge ( M1 jcn 41 to M62 jcn 24 ) every day and back till I broke my leg and since then, even though my legs ok, Ive been going on the train. My Monthly Railcard works out cheaper that petrol and dont have to get stressed in traffic, just read my paper and let the world go by.

Downside is that it does take a little bit longer due to connecting trains.

Of course being public transport, there are occaisions when they run late, but you can quite easily get caught in traffic on the M1 anyway.

Just an other option to consider!:)

Dont forget there will be Car parking fees to pay in Leeds and as I understand it, city centre parking is not very cheap!
