a4gom Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Ok I have about 20gig of albums on my mp3 player, they are all id tagged so have track name and artist etc stored with them I want to access them on my p.c.'s at home and work but don't know which software is best, I have the likes of media player, winamp, musicmatch jukebox etc these are easy to use but you have to use the traditional windows type directory and file structure I would like something a bit more friendly. In pubs they have jukeboxes connected to the internet etc which show you the covers and track lists (i have the covers stored in the same folders). Behind the bar in some pubs they have a p.c. which has a full screen showing whats playing and whats available? Anyone know what software they use / whats on offer / whats good. Hopefully you will understand what I've been going on about. Quote
adhawkins Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Try this? http://www.slimdevices.com/ The software is free. It comes with a (Java) player. Also, you can use a web interface to control multiple players. Never set it up on Windows, but it should work. Andy Quote
Hammy Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 if the previous post is no good try... Media player 10 allows you to list by genre, artist , set favourites etc look at most played/least played etc - only works on XP. ITunes offers similar facilities and is a free download from their site and also gets you aways from the folder type structures -no album covers tho I've searched and not found any good *free* jukeboxes, which I guess is what you may really want, you will see some with reduced features unless you pay -ask Mr Google Quote
