5 foot 11 inches + aeroscreen

I am planning on fitting an aeroscreen (the fluke one probably), but I am concerned that I will have visibility issues because my seats are the racing ones and I have no runners meaning I sit quite low.

If I am 5'11" (and I am) then can I see out ok?

yes, I did a search  :)

cheers!!

mine sat quite high but I am planning to pull it down so I can see over it...

I'n 5' 11" and have a Tim Duncan aeroscreen & PlaysKool R500 seats bolted to the floor (ie very low in the car).  I can see out no problem.

after my extensive searching on aeroscreens tonight it seems Tims site has dissapeared, so I assumed you could not get the JTO one anymore, hence why Im looking at the playskool one which seems a little higher and therefore maybe a problem?

With the Playskool one it has no perspex bit at the top so you could shorten it with a dremel or such without too much hassle.

Doesn't Will Maskell make the Tim D stuff nowadays  ???  ???

sir at 5'11 you will have no problem seeing over the fluke aeroscreen , there are 2 types , the constant lip type which is lower and more suited to the shorter driver , but it has been said it does not deflect as much air over the driver or the SLR type contured lip type i have fitted to my car .

i am 5'11" and my seat base is on the floor (if you have the fluke carbon seats you can do this and still have runners ;)  , and i can still see clearly , though you cannot see the left wheel as well as i could with the standard westfield race seats and the westfield factory aeroscreen .

if you want to see a large picture (broadband or a long wait) then click here to see what your eye level is like .

oops, just realised I meant playskool, not fluke, sorry :p

think the comments probably apply anyway, they seem pretty similar in height so thanks for everything received so far, reckon I don't need to worry

the playskool one id similar to the westfield one , having had the westfield one which is a bubble type ala playskool and the fluke/caterhamesque type i find the fluke type easier to live with ,

one if the reasons why i bought that one as i had had the other.

could you define 'easier to live with' ? im interested to know the advantages

You can adjust the hight of the Plays Kool aero when fitting. I'm 5' 9" with race seats but I'm sure I won't have a visibility problem. I could just about see over it sitting on the floor. When the seats go back in I'll probably raise the hight of the screen a little.

Will Makell is making Tim's aeroscreens now. I cant find a web site for him, but if you contact the Chiltern 7's bunch (just do a google and the web site comes up) Mark should get you in touch. Thought he has a web site of his own but cant find it, nor can I remember whats on the sticker on my aeroscreen, but I can recomend them.
