I have on trial a Canon MV750i camcorder

There is no instruction book as the box and all the other bits that you normaly get with it was stolen from the camera shop

What I would like to know is how to set up a bulit cam with this camera

It has an AV jack plug on the side of the camera I have a lead to connect to the bulit cam and a 12v suply to the built cam [it works if I put it into my son's TV av in put so the built cam works fine] is there any settins buttons that need changing pressing to make it work

Canon want to charge me to download an instruction book I will do this for the rest of the infomation about the camera if the bulit cam works and I buy it

Now for the next bit how to get it from the camera to my lap top

Would you not need a firewire card/lead, I thought a lot of the camcorders only used USB to transfer stills etc?

afaik you need a fire wire connection and DV out on the camcorder  :t-up:

I thought USB 2 was fast enough for video transfer. USB 1 certainly isn't...

What OS are you using?

If I am not mistaken isn't it against the law to sell an appliance without instructions . It certainly used to be the case.

The camera shop should supply you with the instruction book  :sheep:

In my book[canon mv850i] the only way to upload to a PC is via the dv o/p , seems you need a firewire connector or dv in on your PC video [graphics card] to do this.

recomended cables .

IEEE 1394  4-6pin  or  4-4 pin dv cable

I bought one fairly cheap off the web as PC World  Canon etc. seem to be rip off prices.

Which bullet cam did you buy ?    ???  ???  ???

try recording onto the card - not cassette - then transfering via the pc usb cable.

have you got a bigger card - to have more than 10secs recording time on the card??

little/cheap cards have max time set - but big capacity cards i think work for long recording times.

you should see files there using normal windows explorer.

but for cassette recorded video files - you MUST use the firewire for this camera.

i know - i got the same camera too...

I have now found out how to get the camera to record the bullet cam [thanks Cam and Pete]
