Westfieldman Posted March 17, 2006 Author Posted March 17, 2006 Thanks that bit works Now for the next bit how to get it from the camera to my lap top I have a USB lead from my Phone of Digi still camera [that fits] have tried to import it into Movie makes but no luck yet Quote
ChrisG Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Would you not need a firewire card/lead, I thought a lot of the camcorders only used USB to transfer stills etc? Quote
pistonbroke Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 afaik you need a fire wire connection and DV out on the camcorder Quote
Blatman Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I thought USB 2 was fast enough for video transfer. USB 1 certainly isn't... What OS are you using? Quote
pistonbroke Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 If I am not mistaken isn't it against the law to sell an appliance without instructions . It certainly used to be the case. The camera shop should supply you with the instruction book Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Cannon's website is no help when I bought a samsung camcorder cheap from currys no book box etc I just went on samsung's website and downloaded the whole book and printed it off job done Edited to ad it was "free" by the way cannon Quote
pistonbroke Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 In my book[canon mv850i] the only way to upload to a PC is via the dv o/p , seems you need a firewire connector or dv in on your PC video [graphics card] to do this. recomended cables . IEEE 1394 4-6pin or 4-4 pin dv cable I bought one fairly cheap off the web as PC World Canon etc. seem to be rip off prices. Which bullet cam did you buy ? Quote
blankczechbook Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 try recording onto the card - not cassette - then transfering via the pc usb cable. have you got a bigger card - to have more than 10secs recording time on the card?? little/cheap cards have max time set - but big capacity cards i think work for long recording times. you should see files there using normal windows explorer. but for cassette recorded video files - you MUST use the firewire for this camera. i know - i got the same camera too...
