Chassis weight

I would have thought this was easy to find but appears not. Does anyone know the weight of a SEiGHT chassis without or without the ali panels attached. My bathroom scales were too small.

Zetec SE chassis is 68kg bare, if this helps

I think there is something on the FLUKE weight database.

But seem to remember it is high 60s, cant remember if that was with/without ali panels though.

first place I checked acutally, they only have chassis weight for the cateringvan.

I was after the weight for a SEiGHT chassis, which is going to be heavier. This gives me a ballpart figure though, thanks.

Why all the interest in the weights Adam?

When you take it for SVA they will tell you how much it weighs?

SVA will give me the total axel weights, no?

The interest is for knowing sakes, I'd just  like to know! I love numbers! and I have added a section to my website detailing weights of components for other's comparative reasons.

Also useful to know the weight when I decide how to lower to the floor. Can me and one of my bodybuilding buddies lower it to the floor on our own! (I squat 300kgs at the Gym)

Sorry mate, someone needs to tell Graeme that the search by description on the fluke weight checker does not work properly. I have listed the whole lot now and searched using the web browser for occurances of chassis and found it!

Not a Chance!

When you lower it to the floor you will have a V8 and a gearbox in there - if you try we will send both of you cards in the spinal injury clinic of your local hospital!

I used my engine hoist but attached it to the chassis frame to lift the front, remove the stand and lower it onto axle stands, then repeat at the rear but attached to the diff framework with the boot box not fitted.
