JeffC Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 Ive posted before asking for help on this one and i still havnt managed to sort it Nokia 6230I wont pair with my handsfree fitted to the car, my old 6230 has no problem and even i delete the pairing it will still pair with it again.. I think I was advised by Barry to find the control box , whick i have just managed to do today , it is a nokia ce 168 hfw1 if that makes any sense, I disconnected the power from it and left it a while, coupled it back up, phone will find the carkit in paired devices but as soon as you try and pair it says pairing failed as it it did before It doesnt get as far as asking for the passcode. I phoned Orange and they now tell me not all phones are compatable with all kits ive allready had a replacement handset as the last one wouldnt pair either and i thought it was the phone at fault any ideas before i get a ticket for yakking when im driving Quote
Eastern_Westie Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 I don't know about this specific car kit, but you normally have to put the kit into "pairing mode" before attempting to pair with it. Occassionally, the passcodes can get lost, and so your handset won't be able to connect to the kit even if it thinks it is a previously paired device. The kit probably has a default pairing code (something like 0000). Try pressing and holding the button on the car kit for 10 seconds - that will do a complete reset on it. Then try pairing again. JeffC Posted March 5, 2006 Author Posted March 5, 2006 I have the passcode but it doesnt get that far . ive pushd the button and held that doesnt do anything either , as I said my phone finds the kit but wont pair Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted March 5, 2006 Posted March 5, 2006 You Called If it is showing in paired devices delete it and search for it from fresh. I can't understand why it is failing before the code request. Check the pairing code on the book is actually for that kit on the rear of the control box on the sticker there should be three lines of numbers on the left below the longer barcode the top row of numbers contains the pair code for example the one here in my hand says 1AB800648 so the pair code is 0648 the last four numbers. The kit can be paired to 8 phones but only connected to one at a time if the if the list becomes full you can reset the kit by making sure the ignition is turned of so check there is NO power on the BLUE wire but there should be power on the RED and earth on the BLACK if that is correct press and hold the remote button for about 10 seconds until the indicator light starts to flash the car kit should bleep twice. If still no good buy a CK7W of Ebay and replace the control box and the button the rest is the same the CK7W is a much better kit the CK1W you have was the first generation Bluetooth kits made and is not very good.
