Now now boys!! Blatters maybe you could lighten up on those of us who have less experience.....This is, of course, newbies section. However i would have to agree with your statement on bolting into thin air....Is there any specific torque setting for this? :p:p:D:D

I have read on this board somewhere between 85-115nm but most tend to go for 100nm or 65ft/lbs I believe.

For bolting to thin air, torque up to shear then back off half a turn...

As for lightening up, if you thought that was harsh you must have had a really sheltered life :0:p

There are just times when there is no substitute for calling a spade a spade, and I will continue to do so. Sometimes the best way to get info through to a newbie is to make it stand out...

I have a little bit of knowledge. But I've owned a Westfield since 1989, and I've two since Y2K. One is an original narrow body, one is a late, detachable arched wide body. One I race, one is a road car. Neither has ever needed "professional" help (so far) 'cos I do the vast majority of work myself, and what I can't do myself I get help with from a former F1/Le Mans/Porsche GT/current A1GP engineer in the shape of my brother.... So I have a *lot* of experience, and excellent back up when experience isn't enough ;)

And I've gained another 8 hours experience today...
