Leon B Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Back when winter upgrades commenced I needed a set of piston rings to fit my Omega pistons. Aha, I'll enquire with SBD my usual VX supplier. They only had 2 sets but I bought them anyway so work could begin on the block. Rings arrived.... they were the wrong ones.... by a long way. Half the thickness and completely different dimensions. Not quite sure how this happend as I'd previously bought the pistons from SBD so they must have a record of that they sent me?!!?! Phoned SBD to arrange to send them back and asked when they were expecting stock from Omega, they told me to contact them direct. Telephoned Omega, they requested I send an email with the details on, email sent. A week later and no reply so I phone again, of course the women on the phone doesn't remember me at all, asks me to send an email. 5 emails later and 10 telephone calls I've not spoken to one person at Omega that has a brain! So 4 months later I still dont have the rings I need, Im half tempted to sell the ruddy omega pistons and get some accralite ones, there customer service is amazing! To top it all off, I sent the incorrect rings back to SBD who say they never received them so I'm £70 lighter and nothing to show for it. Anyone have a contact as Omega or any advice for me? Quote
Blatman Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Only advice I can offer is on the missing rings. If you paid by credit card, then they were insured for 90 days. If they were lost less than 90 days from purchase, then you should be able to get yer money back via the card insurance. 4 moths waiting for Omega? I'd have given them 30 days before ditching their product and going with an aletrnative. You know what to do. And in best bolting horse/stable door fashion, always send returned goods back to the supplier by recorded (or registered if extra insurance is required) mail. I have never suffered a *not received" problem in years... Quote
Arm Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Call early in the morning (say 8 o'clock) and ask to speak to Fred. Be 'nice and polite' and ask him if he can help you out of a spot of bother. Explain whats happened. Try not to loose it ! Post replys here ! Quote
Leon B Posted February 21, 2006 Author Posted February 21, 2006 If I knew someone to ask for then I would but I get the same women every time, maybe the rest of them have been sacked! I've phoned them first thing in the morning, last thing in the evening, I really cant belive a company can operate such ****e customer service! Blatters - Mistake I made when sending the rings back, only parcel post so wasn't recorded. It was back in middle nov, you reckon I can still claim off my credit card? Quote

It was back in middle nov, you reckon I can still claim off my credit card? Standard parcel post has a £50 insurance. Had to use it one when an ebay parcel went missing. The guy at Royal mail took my details the recipients and then sent me a cheque for the missing items. Quote
Thrustyjust Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Do Arias pistons do a set for the VX.Supposedly better than accralites.LIke 10k revs etc in a crossflow(not mine tho) Quote
Chris Elworthy Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 If I knew someone to ask for then I would but I get the same women every time, maybe the rest of them have been sacked! If Fred Hadley's been sacked he must have done it himself You are better off dealing with Omega via a race engine company (in my very humble opinion of course), especially at this time of year. I assume the Speedway season is ramping up and that is where Omega's heart is I think. Quote
Leon B Posted February 21, 2006 Author Posted February 21, 2006 Chris, thats exactly what I thought I was doing through SBD but after their dangler up they themselves told me to go direct. Rich - I filed a lost parcel form with royal mail with the receipt of purchase but received no money Gonna give Omega one last chance tommorow morning, then.. they're DEAD! Quote
