a4drk Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I grudge paying £221 from Westfield, however it does look the part. I am looking for something that will cover the car in the rain when its on the back of the Trailer. i have a £20 cheapie cover from halfrauds, which is OK for when you're parked up. Anyone got any recommendations? David Quote
Blatman Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 We generally reccomend *not* trailering a car with a cover. No matter how well fitted, it *will* balloon, and it *will* mark the bodywork with all that flapping around... Quote
Bananaman Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Maybe better to get a full tonnue..... Quote
adhawkins Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Even a tonneau is gonna flap on a trailer, assuming the press studs are strong enough to hold it on at speed. I don't think I've towed in terrible weather, but light rain doesn't seem to get into the car too much as long as you're moving. Andy Quote
Blatman Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I tow with my tonneau in place if rain is forecast. No worries... BUT if the forecast is for zero rain, I leave it off... Quote
Richard Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 I had a bespoke cover made by this company to fit my Megabusa with aeroscreen (wasn't cheap though- around £250) I can confirm that I had no problems with either ballooning or scratches when used for towing in all weathers. http://www.thoroughbred-covers.co.uk/ I only sold the cover because I have now had my trailer covered otherwise I would still be using it. I do have a few pictures I could e-mail if you so wish Richard Quote
