Ian Gratton Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I have a 350z as my daily driver Quite a nice car - feels pretty special to drive - dare I say a car with some breeding from former Z cars. Great 3.5 v6 sound, good skyline 6speed gearbox and rwd however, if I behave round town I get about 17mpg, on the motorway about 27mpg - and if you have a heavy foot I've seen as low as 7 LOL. Go drive one - you'll enjoy it. Quote
cidersurfer Posted February 15, 2006 Author Posted February 15, 2006 Thanks for the replies guys, just waiting for Nissan to phone back about the possibility of driving one later this afternoon Quote
cidersurfer Posted February 15, 2006 Author Posted February 15, 2006 Well, I got to drive one It's my choice and I've recommended it to my mate. I think it's a great car. I like the looks, it's comfortable and it goes like stink. Very torquey and easy to drive quickly. I didn't find the ride or road noise any worse than the TT or the RX8 and the sound of the engine is a nice burble. The suspension felt well sorted at speed and it turns in well. I think it feels smaller on the road than it is. The Nissan dealership in Exeter was also extremely helpful which is always nice. Edit to add; Thanks for the help guys Quote
jago Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 go for the honda 2000 its a better beasty hit 9000 revs and the sound nearly as good as a crossflow Quote

hilux Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 anyone out there had a go in one and willing to share an opinion No but I can put you in touch with the UK Nissan test driver that ironed out the 1200 faults (some lethal ones found at the `ring`) from the Jap cars originally supplied so that they could sell it in the UK Great car, as long as they are made properly Quote
cast iron Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 anyone out there had a go in one and willing to share an opinion No but I can put you in touch with the UK Nissan test driver that ironed out the 1200 faults (some lethal ones found at the `ring`) from the Jap cars originally supplied so that they could sell it in the UK Great car, as long as they are made properly The 350z tried at the ring originally had a Nismo handling kit fitted, after serious handling problems it was removed and the car went faster in standard trim! The UK cars aren't built in Japan but America so I dont know what your mate was driving unless it was an independant test of a Japanese car - which never officially enter the UK. Quote
