Steve20 Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Must have been asked a thousand times before but it is late and I could not find the answer, so apology over. Simple question, what size (rating) do I need for a 2.0 Zetec on TBs (when I can afford them), intention is to use conventional type of battery. Quote
Blatman Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Why use a conventional battery? An Odyssey PC625 or PC680 would be perfect for the Zetec. IIRC, the standard Zetec battery (if it's in the nose) is a motorcycle battery anyway. I'll see if I can dig up the standard number though. Back in a sec... Quote
kevip6 Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Hi Steve, I have recently got a battery for my 2 ltr Zetec and the Factory gave me the numbers: 12V 45AmpHrs Crank Output 315 Hope this helps Kev Quote
Blatman Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Here y'go... Worth noting that a PC625 will have about double the cranking amps of the standard battery. Good for those hot track day starts after a spin... Quote
Cam Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I agree, go for the Odyssey, mines been excellent. Quote
Thrustyjust Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Got a PC 680 on mine.Bought direct at Stoneleigh. £70,so if you can wait.... Quote
RobC Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I have a redtop 25.... which should have been an upgrade as with all the problems I have been having with my megasquirt only gives about 30 seconds of crank time... the rest of the time in charging and me cursing the day I bought it... It will be worth it in the end for the weight saving... I'd suggest going for a standard one and then upgrade to a tiny one later like the odyssey or redtop. A stand one will only cost you about £35 for a delta one anyway... rather than the **cough** 87+vat I paid Battery size as per kevip6's post Quote
Blatman Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Powervamp will do you a PC625 or 680 for about 60 quid delivered if you quote the Lotus 7 Club deal Quote

Darren B Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Powervamp will do you a PC625 or 680 for about 60 quid delivered if you quote the Lotus 7 Club deal Just bought a 680 from Powervamp, they were very helpful. They told me that the deal was no longer on, but they would be open to negotiation on setting up another deal as 'we' had bought so many batteries from them. Still gave me a good price when compaired to RRP. About 70 inc VAT and delivery. Darren Quote
Pinto Boy Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Apologies for the sort-of hijack, but...... What battery would you suggest for a road use only Pinto? The current one is a Halfrauds HB015 with 335 cracking current and 2 years old. I'm not sure it is the standard one as it was fitted by the previous owner and he had to get a new tray for it. The car has been sitting on the driveway for many weeks so can't manage enough cracking even when fully charged. Quote
Blatman Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 *Any* Westfield will be fine with the batteries mentioned. FWIW, I run my Cossie on a PC625, and my Vx on a PC680. Since fitting them, my battery charger has been redundant, and the Optimate conditioner that I bought 3 or 4 years ago remains unopened and unused... Quote
