dern Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 What's the screw type that camera and video camera mounts use? I tried to make a mount for the video cam but came unstuck looking for a suitable bolt. I lashed my monopod to the rollbar for this but it looks a bit ****e. Thanks, Mark Quote
Blatman Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 You're looking for a Manfrotto Superclamp Mostly 'cos I have no idea what the thread size is... Quote
dern Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 You're looking for a Manfrotto Superclamp Mostly 'cos I have no idea what the thread size is... Ah, now that is exactly what I'm looking for but needless to say I've left my prep for sunday until the last minute so can't get one in time... I'll get one next week though, thanks. Mark Quote

dern Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 I think Jessops sell them... dern Posted February 4, 2006 Author Posted February 4, 2006 Drove to swindon to pick one up for 15 quid. Found out I needed a slug to go into it that has the thread on it which cost me 4 quid. Got home and screwed slug into a rotatable extension and thread stripped off slug which appears to be made of cheese. Feck. Have now glued slug into rotatable extension with araldite in the hope it will hold. Seemed like an easy job - should have known better FWIW the clamp itself looks excellent. Cheers, Mark Quote
Pepi Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Hi dern, made a mount for myself some time ago and if my memory serves me right the screw that fits cameras is 1/4 whit. But it sounds as if you have it sorted now anyhow. Nice quality vid by the way, be sure to post another one when you have the camera sorted and did I detect the sound of more than the usual amount of cylinders there? Whatever it is, it sounds luverly (get a mike near the exhaustfor full effect) Quote
