felters Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Planning the half term hols and thinking about stopping at Cheddar on the way to visit rellys in Somerset. So which of these two "attractions" is most likely to get the thumbs up from my five and nine year old boys? All useful comments appreciated... I already have a bad feeling about asking for you views on something with the word "Hole" in it's name Quote
cidersurfer Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Only been to Cheddar Gorge but I liked the old fashioned sweet making place there. Quote
Al Yupright Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Went to Cheddar last year. Was ok, there were some supposed scarey bits with some storey about a dragon and a bloke dressed up in a monks gown so kids might like it! Quote
Al Yupright Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 How about the Haynes museum at Yeovil RAF Yeovilton Air Museum was more interesting to me though Quote
Boomy Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Tbh, looking at this link: http://www.wookey.co.uk/welcome.htm ..things have improved a LOT since i went when i was about 10 years old! Quote
Barry Ashcroft Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Wookey hole is better than cheddar gorge but I would deffinatly cast my vote for Haynes Motor museum and RNAS Yeovilton Quote
a4gom Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 looked at both last year when travelling down to devon and intended to do them both but unfortunately other events and traffic queues b*******ed the job up so Sorry I can't help but I would be interested in the answer for our next trip Quote
James Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 How about the Haynes museum at Yeovil Right On!! Fantastic place and a stunning collection(Five minutes from me ) but to answer the question Chedder everytime! Quote
Chris.B Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 HAve taken my kids to both - they preferred Wookey Hole Quote
S8ight Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 both ok. wooky is a tour so you cant take ages, cheddar you can wander around and take as long as you like. if you go to cheddar the adventure caving is worth a go, you wont be able to take the kids though. some really nice small pools in the cheddar caves.
