Mark B Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Just noticed an article in todays daily express, not sure how true it is but they say the current stig is Julian Bailey, ex F1 driver, touring car racer etc, took over from Perry Mcarthy in 2003. Anyone else confirm this? Quote
Blatman Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Stig 1 was Perry Mcarthy. Stig 2 was Ben Collins. Not sure of it's now Stig 3 or if it's still Stig 2, Ben Collins... Quote
Guest Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 Julian Bailey's a local lad to the area, Cobham I think probably only about 25miles from Dunsfold, so could be Quote

Bean Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 On a side note, what model Simpson helmet does he wear on topgear? Quote
Blatman Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 It's an evolution of the Simpson Voyager, IIRC, but I forget what model it is. Try here... It could be an RX Speedway or a Desperado, I think... Quote

Dracoro Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 It's both. Perry McCarthy, in his book, said that a few times one of the others had to stand in. It's more a case of whoevers available when filming. Doesn't matter as long as it's a pro racing driver as times between them will be minimal. See the times tumble when they use us mere mortals instead Quote
