John Fisher Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Got a Freecom DV3 usb - about £60 or so. Seems to work OK, but a bit limited on stations if you use the supplied antenna. Feed it with a decent signal and it's good. Hope this helps Fish Quote
Tigger Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I've got a Pinnacle TV card but it won't work with my new Motherboard. It's analogue but excellent to watch TV whilst browsing, Of course, you could always get a laptop and sit in front of the TV instead Tigger Quote
VX2L16V Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Haven't had a TV for about 7 years... use a pc with a hauppage PVR. Hardware mpg2 recording @ various bit rates. A year or so ago bought a philips freeview box, scart to svideo converter for £12. So can record to hard disk &/or burn to dvd from all digi terrestrial channels. The only thing I want now is a twin tuner freeview box so that I can record one thing whilst watching another. edited to say: It's not just tv, I can play DVDs/Digtal photo slideshow/Digital Radio/Mp3s/DivX/Anything else you can do with a pc It's hooked up to our wireless broadband so I can remote access it or stream video from the laptop. I also use the machine when we go away on hols for motion detection webcam uploaded via ftp to webspace just incase the worst were to happen... Quote
MAT1800 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 Also recommend the Happauge.Link to their most popular one. Quote
Bob Green Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 John, is that a Dormer engine in your avatar? Quote
DickieB Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I was looking at one of these: click here which seems an excellent way of getting and recording TV. Might need a better aerial though, but they're cheap enough Quote
pistonbroke Posted January 7, 2006 Author Posted January 7, 2006 Do any of them go full screen ? I think some may be just a small window view, which puts me off buying . Or am I wrong ? Quote
MAT1800 Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 I think Full screen is pretty normal. The Happuage one definately does according to thier website. Quote
