Hiya all,

First of all Best wishes for the new year to all.

Secondly I am running 15" Toyo proxys and was wondering if 18 pounds sounds about right for tyre pressure?

Any advice would be appreciated

Who knows ???

You need to find the tyre pressure that suits you, your set up, and the way you drive. There's no such thing as a single right answer like there is for a tin top.

I'd start at 20psi all round 'cos it's a nice round number, and experiment. Make incremental changes of around 2psi a time and then try the car. If you think the change improves the car, make another 2psi change in the same direction (either up or down, whichever you chose) and see if that improves it again. If it makes it worse, go back to base line and try it again, then try a 1psi change in the same direction as the original 2psi change. If it 's still no good, try a 2psi change the other way from base line. It's important you drive the same route at the same speed each time so that road conditions and speed dosn't affect the results and make the changes easier to spot.

And tyre pressure has been discussed *a lot* in the past. The search function is your friend...

Agree with Blatman......

I have Toyo T1R I run at 20 PSI....which seems fine.

How about in a 13" ACB10?

What PSI are people using

Pick a pressure, try it. If you don't like it change it. Just 'cos John Smith likes 16psi doesn't mean you will, and John Smith may well have different spring rates and damper rates dialled in, he may or may not have ARB's and if you both have ARB's they may not be identically set up, or even made of the same metal. All these things will contribute to the way the car handles and chances are your car is as unique as the answers you'll be getting. All it needs is two folk to come up with different answers and you're immediately no better off than you are now, other than having a ball park number which you may or may not like, and which is likely to be as random as simply picking a number yourself. There really is no substitute for a bit of trial and error when it comes to working out what's best for your car...

Although Blatman is right that you should find what suits you, westfield recommend 18psi as a starting point in a 15 inch tyre, I run mine lower (16 front 17 rear on 205 tyres) , but don't go too low for the sakes of safety.

Hmmm..not the way I get to the correct tyre pressures. With the Yoko 48's you are looking for a hot pressure of 23 psi. ( I would assume that the Toyos have an optimum hot pressure as well) So I start off with say 18 psi get them up to full temperature, check the pressure and then adjust to 23 psi. Once cold I use this as the start point for next time out.
