adhawkins Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 You'll be surprised how useful a tyre rack is... Andy
a4drk Posted December 21, 2005 Author Posted December 21, 2005 I dont have any other wheels & tyres...... & i'm got going to race, only going to do track days... Tyres that are on it are Yoko A032's (soon to be replaced with 48s) yeah, i know, keep the baldies for the track..... David
adhawkins Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I dont have any other wheels & tyres...... Yet You might want something other than 32s / 48s for a wet track day Andy
steve_m Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I dont have any other wheels & tyres...... You have no children ? Ideal place to carry them I think.
a4drk Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 Had quite a few Private Messages from people wanting it. I phoned Brian James. New - It is £280 inc VAT I think what i'm going to do over the holidays is: a) Have a think & see if i need to sell it - i.e. use it for carrying 4 child seats. b) or sell it in the new year, but on Ebay... I think the fairest thing to do is to auction it early next year. I'll put a link on this Website for all you guys to see it. Thanks for all the response... Cheers David
Terry Everall Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 ebay does not help members IMHO Put down the price you want and let members buy it! If they dont then sure use ebay.
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 I would have thought that you knew how much you would have wanted for it before advertising it on here!
Mutley Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 David, Just to add to Andy's note, you may well find you will want "other" tyre sets for your car. I run a Busa and find 32-SS are way too hard a compound, and 48's are harder again. Your car is capable of running much quicker on soft rubber and the grin factor will increase. I run Michelin 20/54/13 "slightly used" from the front of the Formula BMW's. F BMW's are bike engined and very, very light. This compound is especially suited to our bike engined cars and can be bought for around £20 each. In the wet I found the 16/54/13 Michelin Formula Renault Fronts to be the best. They offer incredible grip and water clearence (better than the F BMW's for some reason). Again same prices. If you try this rout you will save a lot of money to get to more track days, and get a lot more out of your car too. Hope this is helpful. Colin.
Fraser Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Colin, Where do you get the Michelin cut slicks and wets for £20? Fraser
a4drk Posted December 22, 2005 Author Posted December 22, 2005 Been told its worth £150 to £165 from a bloke who lost out on one on Ebay, which sold for £165 Comes with 2 x heavy duty ratchet straps Delivery may be a problem, unless there any Jocks oot there... I live in Edinburgh........... David
Mutley Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Where do you get the Michelin cut slicks and wets for £20? Hi Fraser, The 20/54's are full slicks and a 16/53's (apologies I did say 16/54 in my previous note) are pucka wets (not cut). I buy them from Protyre - 01782 791739. You need to ask for Jason, he will sort you out. These guys also attend all of the FAST CLUB track days fitting tyres at the track. Jason will sort out carriage at very reasonable rates and they do give good service. If you want any further information let me know. Cheers, Colin.
Mid life crisis Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I would be very interested in the tyre rack if it will fit my Mino Sport trailer. Anyone know if it will.
a4drk Posted December 24, 2005 Author Posted December 24, 2005 I think it will I just checked the website. The Minno & The Minno Sport are both 6 foot 8 inches wide. So theoretically - yes.. Worth a phone call to BJ first... Whats the difference? Is it just the "Bodykit" round the sides? Check the website Brian James Cheers David
Mid life crisis Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Yes it does have the bodykit, but also has a few more features like spring loaded leg stands, the ramps are located in trays under the trailer, so to deploy you just need to flick a catch and they pull out (very easy). Plus a few more innovations.
