conibear Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Does anyone know if Avon slicks and wets have a fitment direction the same as ACB10's i.e. reference to the four/five digit spec number location inward or outwards. Quote
peterg Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 assuming you mean for crossply slicks then no they aren't directional can't say for sure for radials though as my budget hasn't so far stretched to the change Quote
tonym Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Yep. For rear wheel drive the coloured spot or the build number should be on the outside of the front left wheel, the inside of the rear left, the inside of the front right and the outside of the right rear. For front wheel drive it should be inside front left, outside rear left, outside front right & inside right rear. Hope this makes sense. Quote

So its the same as ACB tyres then My Avon wet slicks are 7.22.13 spec no. 7415, are these crossplys Quote
peterg Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Hmmm well I never knew that, but then again I've never had the tyres off the wheels and they're marked up LF RF etc but I thought that was just for balance issues etc Quote
tonym Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 THEY ARE NOT DIRECTIONAL AS SUCH BUT AS THEY ARE HAND BUILT THERE IS A TAPERED OVERLAP WHERE THE TREAD MEETS ITSELF SO THEY HAVE A CORRECT ROTATION TO STOP THE RIPPING ACTION OF WHEELSPIN AND HEAVY BRAKING. Sorry for shouting.(capitals) Quote
