adhawkins Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Go for 13s then and save a wodge of cash... Andy Not with Golf rear calipers, though. Apparently some 13s will fit. It's a good point though. Andy Quote
Westfieldman Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 I have Westfield rear alloy uprights [sierra brake type] and have fitted Golf callipers and both my ses of 13" wheels fit after removing the cooling fins on the callipers 2 to 3 mm of alloy [non structural]the R500 wheels fitted without removing any metal Quote
adhawkins Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Let's hope those cooling fins weren't too critical then eh Paul? Andy Quote
Westfieldman Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Andy How much does a Golf weigh How much rear bias does a Westfield need So I don't belive the little fins will be needed for a Westfield Quote
stu999 Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 How much rear bias does a Westfield need Possibly more than the Golf... Quote
adhawkins Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 So I don't belive the little fins will be needed for a Westfield I just hope your belief is well founded. I've seen the result of a Westfield piling into a corner with no rear brakes (ask Andy Lyall). Andy Quote

markcoopers Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Repower coating wheels will be about £50 a wheel, as you will need to get them cleaned and all the laquor removed first, them coated then laquored. Also I was told that some wheels have a fair amount of gas in them, so it is worth heating them first to remove this, then powder coating. This stops bubbles forming in the coating. My old 4.2 "real steel" engined westfield only had 205 rears, that coped (ish) with an alledged 261bhp. Quote
