Peter M Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 The rack supplied to me from westfield is 2.2 turns lock to lock which was invoiced as a quick rack. Peter Quote
Westfieldman Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 All this 2.8/2.5./2.4/2.2/1.9 is a little meaning less it is how much rack travel you get from one 360 deg turn of the pinion [steering wheel] So to start you off a Quafe 2.2 moves 62mm each 360 deg turn can the rest of you with the other ratios fill in the rest thanks and we can see who is steering who a stray Quote
Peter M Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 When i can brave the cold i will go and measure my rack travel. Quote
Thrustyjust Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 I put a Peter lloyd rallying 2.4 quick rack in my car this year and no lock stops.I find the headlights are in the way, more than the bodywork.I am putting mini headlights on this winter to help cure it a bit.The rack is so much better weighted than a standard rack and wish I had done it first after I bought the car.If you are really that worried about touching the body,I have put some clear plastic on the touch points. This is cheaper than rack stops, you will get the most lock poss, and is invisible from 3 feet,if you know its there.Quick rack every time. Libell Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Thanks Mark/Blatman Now I've just got to decide which wide track to fit I like the look of the gts and Raceleda set ups but need to know will need to replace the front shocks springs for longer ones? Don't really want to do this as i have recently fitted a set of nitrons I know the cat arms have raised shock mounts so you can use standard length dampers. Danny I dont know how the gts is , but with the Raceleda Widetrack you can use your damper . You might need to fit other springs though Pic on Raceleda widetrack Niklas Libell Megabusa Sweden Quote

Westfieldman Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Quafe 2.2 moves the rack 62mm to each 360 deg turn of the pinion The 2.5 rack that I have just removed moves the rack 52mm per 360 deg turn of the pinion So come on lets have the other ratios filled in Quote
Thrustyjust Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 Just checked my Peter lloyd rallying 2.4 and works out at at about 52mm in travel.I wonder if that makes any difference with the car 18 inches off the ground and the rack dropping down with the suspension. Quote
