david.c Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I too, thought the race was a little unbelievable, and dull. At no point did Clarkson really give the car any real wellie. But on the whole the series has been good...........peaking with the speed climber V Audi & radio controlled cars episode David Quote
James Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 At no point did Clarkson really give the car any real wellie. Would you lets face it your given a £850,000.00 car and told not to brake it!! not only would it be bl**** embarasing if you did but your carrer may not recover. I think TG is fantastic and bear in mind it is a tv show and to that end they are always going to be biessed towards giving entertainment over the cold harsh facts cos thats what its all about entertainment, there ratings must be higher now than ever before and thats got to be good for them. LONG LIVE TG Quote
chrisbin Posted December 14, 2005 Author Posted December 14, 2005 Sorry if my post was read as a "bash Top Gear" moment.....it wasn't, just thought it was quite entertaining, pretty much like the show.....! As per everything else on the show, Star in a RPCar is entertainment, pure and simple! So don't read too much into any lap times, nor "close" races between cars and planes/boats - I mean how many times did they have to stop and film that Bugatti driving past a camera at the side of the road..... There's loads of speculation about the laps - seems the lines have altered somewhat, the car now has a rollcage making it stiffer and therefore quicker, blah blah....at the end of the day, when they put up Ellen Mac's time last week as being within 4/10's of Damon Hill's.......well, come on, Ellen may be good/determined but really...... But, its still the best and most entertaining motoring programme on telly - I mean 5th Gear.... Quote
