Flippin brilliant driving to manage that and still beat Damon Hill's time...

also noticed on the "close"  race half way across the world car against the plane there was still time to stop and put a camera in every bush to get a driveby to here the noise of that engine

Yes every shot of the aircraft it seemed to be flying with flaps down, and always seemed to be doing a steep banked turn...

Aye those races remind me of those changing room type programs in a way.

In those, no matter what they are trying to do or achieve they always just manage to do the last brush stroke or fix the last tile 1 second before the end.

The chances of that happening so many times must be trillions to one.

Much the same as the Top Gear crew arriving within minutes of each other at their destination.

Incidentally, the only thing faster than the Veyron must be the people carrier that carried the crew and cameras across the country leaving after the Bugatti, overtaking it soooo many times to enable filming and arriving before it...

And I bet it used less fuel

'Tis sad but the program has rather lost its way a bit and dumbed down too far. All these programs do this in the end, it is just such a pity that they have to appeal to the populace rather than the true believer ...

That Bugatti was rather nice though wasn't it?

I must admit I was surprised that Mansell didn't show his usual saloon car driving tendencies.

They obviously edited out the crash and subsequent car substitution.

i agree with steppenwolf , the program has lost its way with all of these races.the first couple of times it was worth watching now they are just boring.i will be glad when they get back to being a quirky , original car program.they have even started to over do the spends ya money challenges.just my opinion !

Where would we be without TG on a Sunday night, I think it's a great laugh and far better than 5th Gear IMHO of course.

Thought the Veyron was dare i say it ugly, pig ugly in fact but an awesome achievement until they said the true cost is £5m per car

Entertainment.

Of all the car programs on TV, it's still head and shoulders above the opposition, no matter how easy it is to pick holes in.

My only criticism is that the anti caravan campaign seems to have taken a back burner

My wife and daughter watch it, they love it.....so it must be on the same par as Corrie, Eastenders Strictly C*me Dancing and X Factor?

yup, im with Neil and Stuart on this.  Its a bit of entertainment and damn good at that.

Its the only car related programme my wife watches (apart from American Chopper)

Remember when all we car nuts got only 3 GPs a year and half an hour of Top Gear for about 6 weeks of the year, lets think ourselves lucky that nowadays we can pick and choose which car progs we watch  

And yep I agree with Megaless Paul that Bugatti was pig ugly and like Stepps and Mud say the cross Europe races are becoming boring
