studbuckle Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Hi all, Westy due back into UK some time soon I'm lai up and unable to collect it so it's being collected and stored on my behalf. My usual inurance company (MSM) don't do Lay up insurance and there's no way i'm paying for fully comp inusrance while it's laid up and probably SORN'ed Can anyone reccomend the best place to get some suitable insurance for while it's stored. Thanks Si Quote
oioi Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 what are you doing posting at this time? i thought you were being cut open today? hope it goes okay OiOi Quote
Blatman Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I leave my fully comp inurance in place for both cars regardless of their use pattern or how many pieces they may be in. The race car has spent more time in bits this year than it has in one piece, but I feel much more comfortable knowing that it has comprehensive cover and is not subject to the potential restrictions of lay up cover. Mark B Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Ditto, mine's only on the road 7 or 8 months of the year & I just leave the insurance running as per usual, especially as it's only 160 quid a year anyway ( limited mileage). Do footman james do layup insurance? I seem to remember they do. Cheers, Mark. Quote
pistonbroke Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I just got my renewal £280 inc euro breakdown cover currently mines sorned and is at the factory being mended ,wont be road worthy for a couple of months , was thinking along the same lines but dont think it would be worthwhile in the long run . b.t.w. If you think car insurance is a pain you should try sorting a claim out for marine insurance , it's a nightmare Quote
