blimey, thats a bit pricey.Got mine stripped and powdered black for £25 a wheel.Cash talks at those kind of places. If you mind travelling to Reading, can get them done for that money

Whereabout in Reading?  :)

Near junction 11 M4.Theres a guy who vapour blasts them for around a tenner and at the back of my work at Green Park next to the Madjeski stadium a guy who powder coats. All a proper job.Did my wheels and does various other bits for my car and as I say, cash talks. If you want something done, mail me and I will help you out.He does a matt,semi-gloss or gloss black finish.I went for semi,or though it looks fab, maybe the gloss would look a bit more bling.

Did say he would powdercoat my mate Derns chassis he's building for £80( if it fits in the oven)

What is vapour blasting?  ???

Vapour Blasting involves firing boiling hot water, degreaser and any other desired chemicals such as rust inhibitor at about 120Psi through a gun with a one inch nozzle at the wheel/component. Its a really quick process and ensures you are painting/powder coating a true bare metal surface. Its a chemical process so I would guess it doesnt lead to the piting that was suggested before and gives a striped smooth finish.

Thank you for the explanation, most places I've been getting quotes from, i.e. Laptab, seem to use chemical dips then sand blasting.

There is a company near Aylesbury who do Vapour Blasting. They are a Classic Car restorer and offer the services of their blaster by the hour. I dont know how much it would cost but.....01296-770596 if they are anywhere near you!

I've been looking into this myself and found these people here and here and here expect to pay between £35 to £40 +vat per corner.

As Chaz says get them dipped not shot blasted  ;)

I'd call George Polley and check the price of a new wheel first. I seem to remember that Minators aren't much more than £50 new... ???

Been there and done that...my issue is off sets  :bangshead:  So I have resloved to stick with what I've got and get them re-coated.
