steve_m Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Hadn't really considered the BMW 2002 before - interesting. One is listed here a few cars down... 2002ti Targa, running twin 45's - now thats cooooool Proper RWD 70's fun, can still get most of the parts and lots of later 3 series parts fit if you fancy upgrading. I'd like to see proof of the 175bhp though for that one, they were 130bhp with the mechanical injection and the turbo made 170bhp. Would be a great project to create a modern 2002 turbo. Quote
Robin Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Mercedes E500 if you can find one. LHD only. So cool most people would not know what it was! Just don't ever bend it the panels are different to the ordinary E classes. Robin Quote
felters Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Large Family = Volvo T5/Audi S2,RS2 I've got a T5 - as big barges go they're a cracker. Not exactly retro-cool though. My vote is a Defender TD5. Had one a couple of years ago. Couple of years old from a Franchise dealer. Gave it a dogs abuse. Put 40,000+ miles on it and sold it for £500 less than I paid Quote
RobC Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 latest issue of Total BMW has a very nicely restored/modded 2002.... awesome Quote
RobC Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 11k does seem a little steep as you could have a E36 M3 for a little more or a nice E30 m3 with loads of change for fuel and tuning Quote
Westfields Rock On Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 super retro cool is my car Quote
stu999 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Ooh, retro- so many cars, so little time Anyway, no-one mentioned sensible budgets, so: A 'proper' (early) Mini Cooper S. Completely standard. Preferably a Mk1, but not extremely important... A bubble-arched Mk1 Escort, with a 16v VX in the front, or better still, a Millington... A Lotus Sunbeam... Back to the Escorts - this time a Mk2 (RS droop snoot), standard looking, with a Cossy turbo in it. More of a refined road burner, compared to the rally/track slag Mk1... An early Range-Rover. The retro-tow barge. With a modern LS1 in or summat Audi Quattro SWB - or, in fact, pretty much any of the group 'B' rally monsters of the early eighties. RS200? Yummy... Ford GT40 A Morris Minor with something modern and crazy in it. Miss Marples meets the Mazda w**kel for instance... A Lotus Carlton Lotus 7? With a Xflow of course.... That lot should keep me happy through the winter whilst the 'real' car is off the road for upgrades... Quote
scruffythefirst Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I've got a hankering for a GSI3000 24v, supercharged and shoehorned into an early manta Quote
