Just reading Aughtosport

BRDC Mclaren awards test on this track.

They  list target times for different points around the circuit for each car

Each of the 6 young hopefull contender gets to drive :-

18laps in DTM cars

18laps in BTCC cars

30 laps in World series cars

Before the test they where set loose in cateringvans to familiarise themselves with the track .

No actual times posted but target times are listed which might prove interesting to some of you track oriented types .

Just wondered where a good Wessy might fit in with the targets ???

World series 5th    125mph

Most of the drivers comments where directed at the speed and handling of the DTM and World series cars !

A Westfield to BARC regs is 1.19 around Snetterton. I cant remember my fastest but it must be low 19's. The fastest lap there this year was 1.19.330 by Nick Flowers. Taken from here

Have a look at the Britsports times as well for your comparison. I did a 1.09 in the Radical Prosport myself and Jonathan Hawkins raced this year. The quick ones in this series will do a 1.03.

Interesting times, makes you wonder why the target speed was so low ???

maybe they where basic roadgoing caterham but then why target stebb straight max at 135mph ?

seems a bit optomistic !

hopefully there will be a fuller report when the lucky lads get  awarded the prize   :t-up:
