John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 Just got my latest copy and saw a familiar looking blue Westie in the Walkers Workshop write up John Quote
dabar Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 That will be mine then ...still trying to get a copy of the magazine though Great day mapping,Dave seemed well pleased with the results from the standard xe,engine is now much smoother, good hot/cold start and no more popping and banging from the zorst. How does the graph look to you guy`s,coz i wouldn`t know a good looking graph if it turned round and bit me on the Graham Quote
Martin Keene Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Graham Re-fresh my memory, weren't you local to the cambs area? Edited to add: The graph looks almost to good to be true, that is one hell of a smooth power curve. Quote
dabar Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Martin Yes,am close to cambridge/st ives Graham Quote
dabar Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Martin Regarding the graph,I think even Dave couldn`t quite believe it....so he made another run to confirm Just noticed that little step near the top....what`s all that about then ? Graham Quote
Martin Keene Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 The little step at the top could be almost anything, but I'd have my money on inlet lengths or exhaust lengths being just a nadge off perfect. I wouldn't even give it a second thought though, I don't think I have ever seen a power curve as straight as that. Quote
dabar Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Job`s a good`un then, money well spent I think. Now all I want is some decent weather and a track. Oh,and to sort the clonking noise at the back end and some new tyres and maybe change the g/box and a warmer garage and................ Does it ever end?...............(don`t answer that) Graham Quote
Phil. S Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Does the graph say that your car is delivering 200bhp from a standard XE? Is that with carbs or throttle bodies? Quote
dabar Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Phil 201.2 BHP / 7224 1/min(132mph) 163.9 lbft / 5608 1/min As far as i am aware the engine has standard internals,ARP bolts excepted,tb`s,sbd 4-2-1 manifold and silencer. Graham Quote
adhawkins Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 Those are very good figures. Mine is on standard cams, but has other trick bits (ported head, higher compression etc) that get it to around the same figures as you. Andy Quote
Arm Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I would consider an accuracy of +/- 10 % to be the norm. 180 is usual for a good std xe. Quote
