geofff Posted November 22, 2005 Posted November 22, 2005 Hi Graeme, Do you have any engine spares? Do you need an MSA license for trackdays? How many and what type of track days are available for the super karts? Ta Geoff
gee_fin Posted November 22, 2005 Author Posted November 22, 2005 Hi Geoff There are some spares with it (barrell, reed block etc.) but while KTMs are no longer a dime a dozen they're not particularly difficult to get parts for - my last rebuild was simply ordering parts through the local bike shop. The license situation depends on the circuit. I haven't needed one at the circuits we go to - Whilton Mill, Lydd, Shenington, Cadwell Park, Donington etc. but it just depends where you go and what you're doing. To race yes, in most series you would need one, to test, normally you don't. Trackday-wise again, lots of options, open test days at the kart circuits are a dime a dozen or www.superkarttrackdays.com for the larger circuits Cheers, Graeme.
geofff Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Hi, My karting team mate from a couple of years ago always wanted to have a go at super karts but his wife was never that happy about it We both did a gearbox day at Shennington years back and had great fun. I think he's going to bring the topic up again, probably blame the suggestion on me , so I'll get back to you ASAP whether it's on or not. Ta Geoff P.S. Andy shame on you. This would bring my tally of toys to: 1 built WF, 1 WF in bits & 1/2 a super kart - not unreasonable for a bachelor. Would be unreasonable for a married man though
geofff Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 Hi Graeme, Having heard nothing back from my mate I'm assuming his missus has forbade him to even talk to me. Sorry, it's a no go. Geoff
