Toby Mack Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 ah, I have never tried that. hang on....... hmm. Well, it looks like autolock automatically requires the lock code. So you either have to use the lock code or manually put the keylock on using menu*. That is from playing with the phone, I'll try to remember to check the manual tomorrow at work. Quote
ChrisG Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Yup, thats what I thought, if you have it come on automatically, you have to key in a number to unlock it again Quote
JeffC Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 decided against samsung and just ordered a nokia N70 comes 2mrw, will let you know what its like... Quote
ChrisG Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I think Im going to do the same, having looked at the handbook on the Nokia website, the N70 auto keylock does require a key to unlock the same as the 6680, but there appears to be several Symbian applications that you can buy for a couple of quid that install and give the phone a normal style keylock without the unlocking code, so I'll get one of those if it becomes a pain. JeffC Posted November 3, 2005 Author Posted November 3, 2005 new phone has arrived , been on since 10.30 till now trying to understand it and have just managed to get my numbers copied across that key guard is ok as long as you dont put it on to auto then as said it needs a code not sure so far, although not much bigger , feels like a brick compared to the 6230 .. menus are not as simple either ,unless im doing sommet wrong seems fiddly to get to the menu where you want to be , buttons are tiny so texting and dialing numbers are going to be mare ! seem to remember i disliked my last phone when i first got it after having a 6310 for years ..... got 7 days to make a decision.. ChrisG Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Jeff Here's the Auto Keylock program for 6EUR, maybe worth a try if the built in auto keylock thing gets on your nerves. SymbianGear.com Im currently waiting for my provider (O2) to get the N70 in stock, after I hinted that I wanted to cancel having seen better deals they seemed to bend over backwards to give me a decent tariff (£20 a month for 500 anytime minutes and 100 texts, rather than the normal £35) so hopefully they will give me a good deal on the handset too.
