What is Santa bringing you ?

Just for track days and possibly the SS as we would be in different classes

Well then, as I said, some event organisers (i.e. competitive events for the Speed Series) won't let you share kit.

I could understand if we were in the same class etc but from what I gather you can share a car ????????

Yes, but when you share a car, one person jumps out, the other jumps in, and away they go.

I'll try to find an example of some regs tonight (if I remember) that explicitly forbid sharing helmets and suits.

Slippy - just to confirm the MSA regs will NOT let drivers competing at same event share anything but the car  ;)  ;)  ;) whatever championship your enter  ;)

All drivers must have their own racesuit and skid lids  ;)  ;) so you'll have to speak to Santa nicely if you want to enter an MSA recognised championship (not just SS)  ;)  ;)  :)

So you'll believe Mark and not me?

You said you would try and find some examples and never came back with any, Mark has just confirmed it.

You don't have to spend thousands on safety gear for sprints  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)  A reasonable quality clubmans skid lid can still be found for around £100 HISL I think the brand is ???

and single layer overalls are a minimum requirement again can be found for around £75 (ish)  ;)  ;)  ;)  ;)

I know general school of thought is buy the best you can afford - that said however you first season is always gonna cost you a small chunk of money and you might not like it ??? so invest wisely and carefully - you can always save your pennies for a 3 layer suit et al as you progress  ;)

AWS do some good deals on 3 layer suits at Autosport in Jan  ;)  :D

See Blue Book section Q9 for overall specs and Section Q10 for helmet specs  :)

If you download a "Beginners Guide" from SS pages it will note all relevant specs to look for  :)

Sorry Andy, it must be my Asst Clerk of Course badge that I have to wear occasionally  :)  :)  ;)
