Richard Houlgate Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I am sure that how to do this is explained somewhere on the site, but I can't find it. Can someone tell me how to post photos please Thanks Quote
Mark Stanton Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 do a search and look at Andy Hawkins free hosting service for all WSCC members and his instruction page on posting photos and avatars ................................. its eaaaaaasssssssyyyyyyy onest Gently Hosting for WSCC Quote
Richard Houlgate Posted October 20, 2005 Author Posted October 20, 2005 Thanks for the prompt response. What's an avatar? Google says: 1. The incarnation of a Hindu deity, especially Vishnu, in human or animal form. 2. An embodiment, as of a quality or concept; an archetype: the very avatar of cunning. 3. A temporary manifestation or aspect of a continuing entity: occultism in its present avatar If I assume the relevant definition is 3 what has WSCC got to do with the occult? I want to put a picture of my car in a post as I have a question, but the thread you gave me just seems to cover 'avatars'. What should I do please? Quote
adhawkins Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Basically do the same thing, but don't resize the photo after you upload it. Then, while typing a post, click the 'image' button, and paste in the URL shown in the hosting service. I'll have to get round to posting step by steps for that too. Andy Quote
Richard Houlgate Posted October 20, 2005 Author Posted October 20, 2005 Thanks Andy, I'll have a go this evening when I'm not supposed to be working! Quote
slippy Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 You say enter an URL would that be a picture that's already held on an existing site i.e you can't post a pic from your hard drive Quote
adhawkins Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 That's correct. However, you can upload said picture to my avatar hosting service (or indeed, any photo hosting service), and use the URL provided there. Andy Quote
slippy Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 I can see clearly now the rain has gone........ When you get round to doing the guide let us know and I'll give it a whirl Quote
adhawkins Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Ok, it shouldn't be too difficult. Might have to live without some pictures for a bit though. Andy Quote
adhawkins Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Ok, instructions now updated (thanks Si ). Check the thread in my sig for full details. Andy Quote
