Thanks for the prompt response. What's an avatar?

Google says:

1. The incarnation of a Hindu deity, especially Vishnu, in human or animal form.

2. An embodiment, as of a quality or concept; an archetype: the very avatar of cunning.

3. A temporary manifestation or aspect of a continuing entity: occultism in its present avatar

If I assume the relevant definition is 3 what has WSCC got to do with the occult? ;)

I want to put a picture of my car in a post as I have a question, but the thread you gave me just seems to cover 'avatars'. What should I do please?

Basically do the same thing, but don't resize the photo after you upload it. Then, while typing a post, click the 'image' button, and paste in the URL shown in the hosting service.

I'll have to get round to posting step by steps for that too.

Thanks Andy, I'll have a go this evening when I'm not supposed to be working!

You say enter an URL would that be a picture that's already held on an existing site i.e you can't post a pic from your hard drive ???

That's correct. However, you can upload said picture to my avatar hosting service (or indeed, any photo hosting service), and use the URL provided there.

I can see clearly now the rain has gone........ :D

When you get round to doing the guide let us know and I'll give it a whirl ;)

Ok, it shouldn't be too difficult.

Might have to live without some pictures for a bit though.
