peterg Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Clicky Julian Thompson over on Blatchat is organising a bulk buy of Road Angel Navigator (the latest whizzbang GPS satnav system AND the compact Road Angel speed camera wotsit) - the prices are brilliant (£144 discount on the Navigator and that includes VAT and delivery to your home!...) and if I hadn't bought a Tom Tom 300 3 weeks ago I'd be buying an RA Navigator, it's got FULL UK postcode search AND it's a speed camera warning device as well makes it a no brainer if you're thinking of getting one of either His contact details if you're not a Blatchat member and therefore cannot post a reply are in the first couple of posts on the above thread so contact him directly Quote
chrisbin Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Anyone got one of these.... Price is indeed v.good and units are still available - just seem to have mixed press afaics...... Quote

Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Julian has an Audio shop in Macclesfield, cant remember the name right now but I've got it at home somewhere, from when I got my geodesy in another bulk buy he organised years ago if anyone wants it I'll dig it out Quote
chrisbin Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Hi Paul Got the number and contacts OK......just looking for a bit of feedback on whether this is the one to go for..... Having satnav and camera detector in one box is appealing...but this one? or?? Anyone?? Quote
steve_m Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 It's a new product so few people will have experience of it. Lets face it, it's got to be better then the wife ! It knows its left from right, doesn't need to visit the ladies 10mins before the journey's over and doesn't forget to read the map when her monther rings for a chat ! Quote

Correct on all counts I reckon !!! Quote
a4gom Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Whats the advantage of this over the Tom Tom? I haven't got aTomTom Go but use TomTom 5 on my PDA I have speed camera warnings on it downloaded from the net just like you do with road anglel? I also have full 7 digit postcode search? Quote
peterg Posted November 16, 2005 Author Posted November 16, 2005 bear in mind that the speed camera database downloaded to Tom Tom as 'Points of Interest' is compiled by submissions from the general public and isn't an 'official' one like that used by Road Angel/Snooper etc etc so it may not be as accurate Personally I run a classic Road Angel bought in a previous BB via Julian and a Tom Tom 300 bought about 6 weeks ago Quote
chrisbin Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Well for anyone else interested, I now think I'm going to go with one of these... This is currently available at Makro for £293 including VAT and full European map coverage. Subs are £30/yr. Consensus seems to be that the mapping software and the camera database are spot on too..... RA Nav seems a good product, but quite a few early glitches reported. Also, its £100 more.....£160 for full Europe coverage.... Well thats my prezzie sorted then! Quote
