I know this has been asked before but I couldn't work out exactly which part number I need for new bonnet catches.

http://www.protex.com/

I'm after straight fit replacements with the option to stick a securing pin through.

I've already got some replacement foam strip to replace to manky looking stuff currently on there.

I used SVA friendly ones, available from Europa. The item is sourced from SOUTHCO fasteners...good clean fit, only 2 needed as at the front you can use the Westfield supplied pins

Though, be aware that if you are going to have air  filters sticking out through your bonnet, it can be quite a struggle with pins. (I know mine is  :D  ). One of those winter jobs is to put another pair of catches on at the front and take the pins off.

Thanks, so can I  use those latches and leave the standard Westfield clasps on the bonnet?

I run twin 40's but there is not hole in the bonnet for air intake or filters to poke out. That's a winter mod.

You will need to drill some holes i'm afraid, but the latch comes with a new stainless hook and is larger than the std westfield one, so the net result are the old holes are neatly covered!

You can plug old holes or it is possible to do a gel coat repair, not somethiing i have done, but i'm sure if you want to go to those lengths someone will know......

Cool, so it's possible to remove the old latches, modify holes and fit new ones then?

It's gotta be done so I might as well bite the bullet and order four new catches.  :)

Spooky, I lost two R clips recently and was about to order replacements.

Thought I'd posted about them in the past. :suspect:

A proper search has thrown up a couple of part numbers for the Protex fasteners  :durr:

Part No. 27-1570

Part No. 270600

Yeah, they look like the biz.

- Need to get some sorted myself asap.

- Front two catchs are little than trustable.
