Major Stare Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 How does Disney France compare to Disney at Florida where i have been quite a few times? Would like to take my son next year, stay in a resort for a long weekend before venturing elsewhere in France. Looking at driving there. Any feedback welcome positive or negative Quote
Mark Stanton Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Never been meself ................... but folks I know took their rugrats a few years back and were a bit disappointed - weather not too good and reckoned it was more expensive - for what it cost for 2 adults and 2 kids they could have got a fly drive deal to Florida Quote
Major Stare Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 Anyone got any tips/suggestions/recommendations for spending two weeks in France with a child who will be nearly 4? We will drive there and split the weeks into two/three places to stay (hotels/villa's), i.e. north/west/south. Apart from Paris, any other recommendations ? Quote
Rob Navin Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 You could strech the Le Mann weekend out Quote
Mark Stanton Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Keycamp can be great for kids of all ages - it's not like camping as all facilities are available - it gives great flexibility for youngsters and you can drive from site to site and work out a tour of some kind - Brittany is good Quote
oldman Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 South,south,south......Ardeche or Tarn gorges.Don't know how crowded they are these days tho Quote

Parc Asterix Futuroscope Been to the last one with a 3yo...was cool then (5 years ago now) Also went to DP and it was slick, apart from the food which was *awful*. If you go, stay in the best hotel...tis cool. HTH Quote
S8ight Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 got quite a few mates whove been with their kids and they've all hated it !! paris is a pain in the A***, full of bl**** beggers and tourists its worth a trip down to the Auvergne, the view of the volcanoes on the drive down is fantastic. the views from the top are fantastic can give you details of people we know near Bourganeuf to stay with if you are interested. told someone from here about them and they enjoyed their stay with them. Paul Ash Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 If you've been to Florida then dont bother with EuroDismal. Its a very poor attempt at capturing Disneyworld. French trying to put on a forced smile and attempting to do the Disney thing very badly. weather not so good either. I guess I'm trying to say you'll be sadly dissapointed. Quote
Major Stare Posted October 1, 2005 Author Posted October 1, 2005 Cheers guys, doesnt look like euro disney will be getting a visit then Quote
jak Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 Jon, Matt went with school a couple of years ago. He enjoyed it, and we had been to Disneyland,Florida before. He enjoyed it, but the weather was obviously not as good. If you're over there I'd go anyway, if only for a couple of days. John Quote
jeff oakley Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 We have been to both several times, and the others are correct DP is not as good as Florida, it is more expensive on everything and the weather less predictable, but for a couple of days it is fine the queues are less in DP and the rides are the same. The rock and rollercoaster is fast and hardley any queues when we went. If you stay at a DP hotel you can get the train into Paris and have a day there even young kids like the boat trip on the river going up the Eifle tower etc etc. If you are in France and are nearby it is worth doing imho. bhouse Posted October 2, 2005 Posted October 2, 2005 DP is hilarious. The French just don't hold any truck with the Disney "have-nice-day-zip-a-dee-doo-dah" appraoch to life and don't even pretend. Although smoking is forbidden in DP, every member of staff seems to have an invisible Gauloise stuck to their scowling lower lip. And I once saw a French Goofy clip a child an impressive 'accidental' whack around the head! Quote
