Martin Keene Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Is it possible to set up Microsoft Outlook to acess a Hotmail account? I have a tiscali account on the works laptop, but I can only send emails when I'm using the Tiscali boardband connection on the site, the BT boardband connection in the office won't let me... Quote
joff69 Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Yes it is. If you go to "Tools" and then to "Accounts" you can add the email address that you want. Quote
Martin Keene Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 Just found that, but it's now telling me I need to upgrade to Hotmail Plus for £14.99 a year. Quote
v7slr Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Outlook will connect to *any* POP3 server. Hotmail, by default, only offers web access. You need to pay more to get POP3 access which Outlook will talk too. Quote
Martin Keene Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 Sorry, I know outlook will connect to any POP3 server, but if I'm connected via the BT server in the office, BT won't let me send emails from a Tiscali address. Quote
Liam Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I will ask my son in law - he's a bit handy with this sort of thing. L Quote

davidgh Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Never managed to make free hotmail (webmail) interface with Outlook. Outlook Express seems ok. Quote
CarlR Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Hotmail sent out a message not along ago saying something about no longer allowing Outlook and new Hotmail subscribers, not sure how long you've had your hotmail account ?. If you've had it more than 6 months Outlook or Outlook Express will handle your webmail Dear MSN Member, Recently, Hotmail® announced that in order to improve customer experience and reduce spam and junk e-mail abuse on MSN® services, Hotmail will no longer allow new e-mail accounts to be accessed via Microsoft® Office Outlook® and Outlook Express.
