Paul Hurdsfield - Joint Manchester AO Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 I've worked in the building trade for just over 40 years now, and thts probably the amount of job changes I've had as well my longest job was 9 1/2 years and my shortest was 4 days, and I've never been out of work for more than 1 night, you know you tell the gaffer to stuff it on a Monday and start somewhere else on the Tuesday But the building trade is like that Quote
chrisbin Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Well I had change "forced" on me a while back.....but fortunately one of the good things that came out of it was the chance to be more relaxed and spend more time at home/with the kids.... ....wouldn't change it for the world now!! Good Luck Chaz! Quote
wildwesty Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 never have liked pasta......! enjoy! P.S........ you sure that was'nt so you could just spend more time with the MIL Quote
KerryS Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 After 20 years in the catering business in branded restaurants I can safely say that now I'm out of it I won't be going back. Yes, we will have to make changes to the way we live because we'll have ultimatly less money but money has never been the driving force anyway. So! It's to be Chaz's diner on the A14 then Kerry S Quote
Tubs Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 The very best of luck to you sir, and I hope that whatever you choose to do goes well. Tubs Quote

chazpowerslide Posted September 30, 2005 Author Posted September 30, 2005 Well first things that's popped up is a firm offer from Stagecoach to work for them as a bus driver, works out at just under 19k per year. Shift work is OK and the schedules are fine, plenty of time off, strict adhearance to the working time directive, and nobody to manage really appeals on this one. Chaz. Quote

MartinH Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Picked this thread up a bit late Chaz but I wish you well in whatever you decide to do. Had a friend who had a bit of a nervous breakdown and packed in a stressful job. A few weeks later I was talking to him and he said it took the breakdown for him to realise what was important in life he then pointed at his 2 year old daughter. Often when your happy in a job you are more sucessful anyway. Martin Quote
