mark.anson Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Yep agree with all the comments above. Its a brave decision to take a big drop in money, however my parents have a family friend who is er very very wealthy, but fortunatly still a down to earth bloke. to quote him, he said "money doesnt buy you happiness; it only buys off a bit of unhappiness". Very true. Good luck Mark Quote
Martin Keene Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 I did something similar in the year. It is a very liberating feeling, I recommend everyone trys it once in their life... Good Luck Mate. Quote

davidgh Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Chaz One of the more useful pieces of advice I have ever been given in my career was about the only three options for happiness in any situation: - love it - change it - leave it! Reckon you've done the right thing. Good luck in whatever you do. Quote
Mark Stanton Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 I told an employer of mine where to stick his job several years back - best thing I ever done Now work with a company whereby terms are on an equal basis its more enjoyable and interesting Next big project is working on the structural design for UB40's new recording studio, adjacent bridge and housing development in Brum Go for it Chaz Look after yourself and your own Quote
KerryS Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Chaz I think I sort of saw this coming really, hope things work out for you. There just comes a point in life when work-life balance goes the wrong way, and the trick is recognising it and doing somat about it. I have fortunately got off the ladder onto a platform alongside so I'm content. All the best Kerry S Quote
SparkyB Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Heya Chaz, Have to say I think you've made the right choice, family has to come first. All the best, Mark B Quote

pistonbroke2 Posted September 29, 2005 Posted September 29, 2005 Chaz. Good luck pal. Have you considered a career as a Takeaway Driver ? Peter. Quote
Paul Ash Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Sounds like the right choice to me. Your kids are only little for a short time, so now is the time to be around them. You'll look back in a year or so, and realise what a good decision it was. Life has a funny way of working out like that. Nothing ventured nothing gained Quote
