I managed to drive a Ferrari 328 for a few laps on a circuit yesterday, what a great experience !

I've never wanted to own a Ferrari (A Countach/Miura is head of the list !  :D  ) but I have wanted to drive an early one that was current when I was young-ish and a 328 GTB came along yesterday.

I know they're not fast by modern standards, probably find a well driven current Golf GTI is as fast or faster, but the handling was excellent . . . if I compare it to other cars of the late 80's, early 90's, it easy to see why they were popular.  The balance was excellent, I could feel what was happening and it was very controllable, almost easy to drive.  Bit plastiky inside and it was shaking on potholes but overall, a pleasant experience !  :t-up:   Nice to have done it.

Superb car to look at that's for sure, some look a bit dated now but other model variations look superb still. You must be dead chuffed :)

Believe it or not, we know someone who had one at 18 years old and not so long ago, after not really being into his cars anymore (he has had a few over the years!;) decided to cheer himself up by buying a 355.Luckily for me, he lends it to one of my best mates (his old school friend) when ge goes on holiday and he goes on holiday quite a lot :D

Now, said mate of mine has a nice evo etc, but the noise of that 355 through local tunnels and the general feel a fezza gives you has made him think quite seriously many times about getting one.It is quite intoxicating.

Actually though, many moons ago when the guy had the 328, my mate at the same time had a Dutton with a tuned 3.0 ford engine in it and up to about 110 mph it left the 328 for dead so i dare say the 355 would also see some of the cars on here leaving it in the rear view mirror. Then again, the owner is into helicopters now and just lashed up around 125k on one to blat around the skys of Kent in.Ok for some huh? :D

The 355 you cant help but fall in love with due to the sound alone, oh and it's LHD as he has a place abroad so is used to LHD and it also saved a few quid compared to a RHD one.

Yep, it wasn't fast by modern standards, my Dax would certainly have been much faster as would probably most Westfields but it was nice to drive something that as a lad I was in awe of.

I was impressed by the balance and how controllable it was, that was much better than I expected and better than most other cars I've driven, better than the K series Exige I drove a while ago which was surprising.  Maybe it was softer and slower so easier . . . doesn't mater really, nice to have done it  :D  :t-up:

I did one of those Ferrari experience things a few years ago.  They had a 348, a 355 and 328GTS there.  The instructors reckoned the 328 was the sweetest of the three.  I could sort of see what they meant, it had a propper old skool interior compared to the plasticness of the other two.  Can't beat the way the noise builds in the 355 though

348's are getting cheap these days but they just seemed so cheap inside.  It felt like a 15 year old Fiat and the Speedo and fuel guage were bouncing all over the place.  Still want one though!
