Thanks Rich, my weeks training starts on the 11th of October with my test on the 18th October, couldn't get the time off work though as my area manager being the usual ar**hole so I suprised em all and handed my notice in. Bit of a gamble that I pass and get the job but the only way I could see to get round it.So fingers crossed for me as I'm unemployed as from the 7th October with a £975 training bill !!!! :durr:  :bangshead:  :bangshead:  :bangshead:  :D

I got done for 46 mph in virtually the same place as you (just as you pass the school - Feb 2004). Sombody, who I know, who worked as a civilian at the police station reckoned that it was probably the worst stretch of road in Northamptonshire and, if they wanted, they could do you for a speed of only 42 mph.

just as you pass the school

You deserve everything you got.

I was actually on the other side of a dual carriageway heading from the A45 towards the A43 right near Wooton hall and nowhere near a school for the record. I might have been speeding (by a measly 6mph ) but I'm not a complete idiot.

that's the trouble with that ring road - it's has connections either end that are 60 or 70 and it's still dual carriageway near the fire station and Tesco's ...

problem I've found with a speed (that now works correctly) is that on a scale of 0-170 mph, 40 or 46 is about a nats whisker apart (ok, 45 is halfway between 40 and 50 but that's about 1/16 inch of movement in a car that will accelerate from 40 to 60 in less time than it takes to glance up and down)

wasn't there a piece on BBC Look East a couple of weeks back about a scientist caught here as well - doing 46 mph and he swears he was doing 40 and was going to prove it ?? - don't know what happened but 46 mph ... has camera man just set his calibration to the desired speed !!!!

really think for £120 I'm going to invest in a digital speedo as a supplement (the SPA one is nice a clear) - mount it in my line of sight just below the aero screen - digital numbers certainly tell you as it is...

£10 - 15 will get you a bike computer that will give speed readings and a lot of other functions.....

get rid of your front plate, the fine for no front plate is £30 and no points, the fine for having a front plate is £60 and three points!

i think we pay enough tax without the camera tax

Yeah I have just decided to get rid of my front plate, I mean it fell off officer here it is behind my passenger seat.  :p  :p  :D

Gonna get a motorcycle tax disc holder and put on the side also, so they can't zoom in to the tax disc and pick out the reg number ! :arse:  :arse:  :arse:  :p  :D

Apparently (Northampton "Safety Partnership" again) have been clocking bikes on the old A45 Kimbolton / Higham road (a well known blat run) - and although there's obviously no number on the front of the bike, they're writing down the reg from the back plate as it goes past and then still tracking them down … is this legal evidence or just plain harassment ??

???  ???  ???

I think I would ask for a picture of the car with the number plate shown to prove that it was me who was speeding.

I am not convinced that that is good enough evidence.
