Bananaman Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Just updated my Norton Anti-Virus and now cannot see most Avatars (including my own) Any ideas Quote
GuyH Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Does your anti-virus include a firewall ? Some firewalls don't allow requests to be sent to domains other than the one you browsed to. i.e., you browse to http://boardroom.wscc.co.uk. All the requests made by the browser to load a page here will be made to that domain, except the avatar requests, which go to http://avatars.gentlehosting.co.uk or something like that. This can be blocked cos it aint a request to the "thing you asked for". You should be able to turn that filter off. Quote
adhawkins Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Turn off web privacy control No, don't do that. Read the 'firewall' info in the Next Generation bit. Full details are in there. Edit: it's this thread. Andy Quote
