starter Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Hope you are as good on track as your posts might suggest Harv Personally don't see it so much as a classic driving error as an unfortunate incident. MikeW Quote
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 So mike a loaded throttle on cold road tyres whilst appling lock would make what happen ? i think thats where we differ , but just think about that , leon has around 200bhp does he not . Quote
starter Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Must learn to type quicker but kept watching the video and still couldn't work it out. LeonB, I'm sure you'll find a car problem. MikeW Quote
Leon B Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Did you watch the vid Harv? Look carefully in the slow motion bit, it starts to drift out when im my front wheels are pointed forward. Thanks Mike Quote
starter Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Harv, We probably differ in lots of ways. I don't need driving lessons but as you will probably know the camber starts to help you as you get on the banking, I really hope you are as good a driver as you make out Quote
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 yes leon .camber change right where you plant your foot.......... of the last 3 people who have lots of track experience who have looked at the video have all without prompting said the same thing ....... cold tyres heavy right foot. Floor a car from standstill in the wet , you will find it will pull to one side or the other with no lock applied . Quote
Leon B Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I give up, you wont know how my car performs or handles unless you drove it. All the people who have replied except you have agreed its geometry. There's no way you can say outright that its my fault that rediculous. Anyway, it happend... next time it may be YOU! Quote

Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Nah scott i love a good windup but maybe this was a little to harsh ............ Appologies Leon if i wound you up to much ....... sometimes its to easy. Quote
CarlR Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 In Leons defence I was right behind him and even though he took off fairly sharply he didn't seem to continue at the same pace because I clearly remember closing up on him, my tuppence worth is probably a combination of something failing and a bit of a human failing that someone like myself might make when something happens that I least expect and to be fair I wouldn't expect at that sort of speed and in a straight line for the ends to want to swap around like that. I wouldn't have said Leon was driving beyond his limits, more just a bit of bad luck with contributing factors both human and machinery. If Leon takes one thing away from this it will be making sure his car is set-up as he want's it to be before the day. Get on the playstation over the winter Leon and work on them reactions CarlR Quote
starter Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Does that mean I get the last word I'd just assumed you were a good driver based on your ability to criticise others. That corner is flat on a normal lap and there is no tendency for a reasonably well set up car to want to swap ends. Clearly cold tyres will have some impact and too much right foot 'may' have played a part but the camber should have helped to sort things out. Look forward to seeing you on track some time ...a few tips always welcome Good luck getting things fixed LeonB MikeW Quote
starter Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Go away for a few minutes to grab a beer and Harvs posted again..even though I thought I'd read 'I will comment no further' Quote
