Bazzer Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 So Jealous !!!! Wish I was going again this year Bazzer Quote
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 why you not comming bazza? Also was surprise at you boys in my session on sunday , its my first day on track since august 2004 and expected at least the turbo busa to come whisling past but alas none of you did ........... i am so rust its untrue , what was going on running lower than normal boost or are these zetecs alot quicker than people really belive? Quote
Bazzer Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Still shaking it down only running 5psi of boost at the moment. I was doing quite a lot of gauge watching so felt I would be better off in the inters. Had a few problems in the first session with fueling, but I sorted them out and the car ran quite well all day. The only cars that seemed quicker in my session were the Global GT light and that slick shod Escort Cossie. I was not surprised that the Global GT light was faster but the Cossie was a surprise until I had a closer look at it. Monster machine massive brakes not a pumped up road car pure motorsport machine. Driver certainly new how to pedal it too. I will be out to play with you Zetec boys soon enough :-) Only my second day this year so I know what you mean about feeling rusty !!! Cheers Bazzer Quote
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 so do i look quick enough to enter this speed series then ?............. Quote
adhawkins Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 so do i look quick enough to enter this speed series then ?............. Since when has that been a factor? Just do it, it's a great laugh. While I can see the attraction of winning, I'm in it to enjoy myself. So far, so good Andy Quote
Al Yupright Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 b******* indeed. Looks to me like you've got toe out on the rear. That would account for the car liking to steer from the rear and ties in with what you said about the suspension being adjusted recently. Quote
starter Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Strange crash Low speed and wanting to swap ends like that doesn't seem right......even with cold tyres. Hope you get it sorted. MikeW Quote
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Leon , don't take this the wrong way BUT.............. the words total and plank come to mind. 1 cold tyres exiting the pitlane 2 if its gone stand on the middle pedal hard . 3 it was gone hours before you applied lock 4 the camber of the track there worked against you also 5 a crossply geo setup will not cause that to happen , i ran a crossply setup with radials on all afternoon , and have done the other way round ....... suggest to save embaressment you remove that last post mate. because you caused an unnessasary stoppage . also work out 200 quid / 5 sessions = 40 quid 20 cars not out on track = £800 for those drivers. thats why there is no excuse for a trackday off and when you look back its rarely ever anything other than some sort of driver error. It may sound like harsh words and as though i am being a little hard but belive me its what was being banged on about in the breifing , because it happens far to often . Quote

MikeW not at all cold tyres low speed to much right foot , the camber of the track there would also help bring the back round . Quote

That would account for the car liking to steer from the rear and ties in with what you said about the suspension being adjusted recently. the rear wheel would have to be very toe out , it was a classic driving error , because if it was that badly setup he would have struggle to even do 1 lap. Leon B Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 the rear wheel would have to be very toe out , it was a classic driving error , because if it was that badly setup he would have struggle to even do 1 lap. Thats exactly what did happen mate. I initially went out on ACB10's, did 2 laps was all over the place and had to let everyone passed. Came in, swapped over to my road tyres that I had actually been using on the road the day before.... then that happened. I'd also like to add, if I'd have stamped on the brakes and locked up then the car behind prob would have gone right up my A***! Even more stoppages me thinks. Quote
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 sorry leon that was road tyres cold = in the wall you go , classic novice mistake , learn from it don't defend it. Quote
Leon B Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Im not a trakc virgin mate and I know how far I can push the tyres. Will wait and see what a 4 wheel laser alignment shows, the car has never behaved like that on any other track day to me points to changes made to the geometry. Oh and glad to see you're really quite heartless, would you still be moaing about loosing money if someone had died on the track? Quote
