kylemrushall Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Myself and my good lady have bought a new house, we have paid our deposit(new build) so we are committed. I have worked all the finances out and we can just about afford it. We are currently are renting so we need our own place, but i have just realised I have not taken into account Mr Blairs F****** cut ie stamp duty at 3% which equates to nearly 8000 pounds. So with much heartache my much beloved Westy V8 is going to have to be sold (NIGHTMARE), I only bought it this year of Mark Minshull (ex speed sport champ in my car) it is awesome 270bhp john eales prep engine, t5 box, 4x4 lsd, rose jointed wide track suspension etc etc. How much doyou boys think it is worth and where do you think is the best place to sell it. It has only done 3k since a total rebuild in 2002. kyle Quote

Mark Stanton Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Advert on here with full spec/photos/details of rebuild would be best place to start. Available free to all WSCC members only as is club magazine Quote
jeff oakley Posted September 18, 2005 Posted September 18, 2005 Not knowing your circumstances, but sympathising with your plight, is there no other way? Will 8k on the mortage be too much, how about maxing out the credit card then transfer to one of the loads who offer intrest free on credit balance, then when that is due switch it to another intrest free. Not usual advice I would give, but loosing the car puts this is the "whatever you have to do" catagorey. Don't give in without a fight. Good luck Quote
kylemrushall Posted September 18, 2005 Author Posted September 18, 2005 looked at all avenues but a 800 pound a month mortgage makes juggling credit cards etc risky. I took my dad out in it in the hope he might help out, but all he said was that thing is f***** mental sell it before you kill yourself so that back fired a bit Quote
scott beeland Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 a 800 pound a month mortgage ( KINELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
DanB Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Quite, wish mine was as little as that... Quote
scott beeland Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Buy a smaller house is the only answer.....Still..it's a new build so it'll start falling apart when you walk round it the day after you've bought it (been there....still there ) Quote
smegablade Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Kyle, might be worth a trip to the builder and explaining your plight. Some house builders will move on the price despite what they would like you to believe. Just tell them that you think you might have to pull out of the deal coz in your calcs you forgot the stamp duty. At the very least you should be able to get them to carpet the place FOC and chuck in a few extras which may help. Quote
