busapower2001 Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Changed plugs then took her out for a blat during dusk/nightfall. Was enjoying myself immensely and then I had a moment ... a heart stopping one as I thought I saw lick of flames/flash up drivers side for an instant (akin to flamming spitfire merlin engine! ). Naturally backed off, to check for more flames/flashes grab me parachute/and ready for a bail out (Fred Flintstone bouncing to a skidding halt image - ouch!! ). Engine was still alive no more flames, oil pressure fine, temps fine so back on throttle lightly, then some beans again. All seemed fine so on I continued. So what was it... whirlled through my mind as I drove along. Perhaps a large insect lit by the headlight causing it to "flash" before plunging into darkness. No can't of been that since have had that plenty of times and it looks different. Then I sussed it. At the time the road was undulating and car was being spoon fed plenty of Heinz and I recalled that I had recently noticed the front anti-roll bar had contacted the upper wishbone momentarily (small patch bare of powdercoat on roll bar) causing a brief clump of sparks!! I am in the process of getting the suspension properly setup soon and adjusting the antiroll bar setting will go onto that list! Quote
