wacomuk Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 should my westy be spitting flames out of the exhaust ? 2.0 xe with fast road cams / verinas / webber alfa / delorto 45`s carbs set up on saturday with a vac and gas analizer at the local tuning place Quote
Gromit Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Mine does it too 2.0L Zetec,Weberr 48`s, F/R cams and Alpha 3D. Good for scaring the cr@p out of people at night. Mine only does it on overrun. Quote
wacomuk Posted September 14, 2005 Author Posted September 14, 2005 yer just on overrun, say 2nd gear rev to 6k then back off BANG FLASH about 2k Quote
Blatman Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Odds on your exhaust collector/manifold interface is leaking. They are rarely airtight unless they have been treated to some heat proof sealant. Air gets in, and the oxygen ignites the exhaust gasses and any excess fuel present. There are plenty of instances of people asking about this, and plenty of advice if you really want to cure it... Quote
gadrego Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Cool isn't it. I wouldn't worry too much with a Carb fed engine. Quote
Messer Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 Mine does it loads on overrun, I really wouldnt want it any different!! Quote

chappers Posted September 15, 2005 Posted September 15, 2005 Adam1330's 2litre zetec/no CAT/jenveys spits flames on overrun. Was rolling roaded at Northampton Motorsport so no problems there but his Raceline collector does leak. Looks great in the dark. I want some on my 1800 zetec. Quote
