Can I just add a plug for MSM.  Top people to deal with, excellent premiums and, based on a friends intimate knowledge of their claims procedure, they don't sod about when it comes to paying out either.

I got a quote of £205 for 3000 miles which was about £7 more than HHH but I'm going with MSM as they're nicer :(

Oh, and you can pay in 10 monthly instalments too.

I had an excellent deal with H.I.C. After ringing around 15 different brokers and companys, they gave me a quote of 158 quid  which is fully comp. for me and the ball and chain, limited to 4000 miles. Originally they were the second company I rang, and after giving me a competitive quote, asked me to ring them back if I found a better one which I did, and they beat the next best quote by a fiver.  :d  :p  :d  :)  :(

Just insured my 1600 X Flow for £135 FC, 3500 miles per annum with HHH on a B98 postcode.

Quick and prompt service. MSM couldn't come near.

Timo, you must have found some decent roads in Ireland, I've just come back from a business trip and my head is still hurting from hitting the roof with all the bumps and potholes. Some of the pot holes are so deep I was waiting for an astronaut to climb out of them :(

Sorry to hear about your insurance quotes.  From what I gather the Republic isn't much better.

We have some great roads here however I've spent more time going hard at them in a rally car than my V8. I'm still getting used to the westfield and find it very unstable at high speed which isn't good if you're doing over the ton on a windy country road. I may have to sell it back over in England at the end of the summer if I can't get a result on the insurance.

I got a quote from HHH this year and was able to save about 65 quid off the MSM price with the same excess etc, but I still stayed with MSM.

I had a 6k 50/50 claim 2 years back and without Dave Spraggs help the westy would of taken much much longer to get repaired.

He has dealt with kitcars for many years and has good links with most of the manufacturers and knows what virtually all the kits he insures look like etc, compared to some daft keyboard operator in an office at the end of a telephone.

You dont know how good an insurance company is until you make a claim.... believe me......

cheers

I have noticed with interest the quotes you guys have had.

I have a SEi1600 xflow 1996-47yrs old and quoted £177 from FLUX with RAC full cover with the possibility of AGREED EVALUATION with 6 current photo's of the car and a written reference from an area organiser etc.

The second quote is with Footman for £163 with recovery - no agreed evaluation available. I have been with these for 3 years - but had no claim.

What do I do ?? - (its due in 5 days time)

You all appear to write-off FLUX. Am I tempted to stay where I am and risk the EVALUATION. YOUR THOUGHTS.......Chris

I had a better quote from Fluxy than HHH but shyed away due to the bad press on this and many other forums.

I have found HHH to be very prompt, accurate and efficient. I don't doubt that MSM are very good, he suggested that I took the HHH offer because it was such good value. Interestingly Footman James wanted £227 for the same cover as HHH offered.  :(
